About our group
We are an online Primary Purpose Group. The main purpose of our group is to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to newcomers and the still sick and suffering alcoholic.
Alcoholics Anonymous is a practical 12-step programme based on spiritual principles which offers anyone with an honest desire to stop drinking a suggested means of recovery. In keeping with AA’s 5th Tradition, our group has but one primary purpose, to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers, and to show other alcoholics precisely how we have recovered.
Each week, we have a short reading from the basic text of Alcoholics Anonymous (also known as the 'Big Book'), before sharing our experience, strength and hope on that section. We hope that our experience will bring about a better understanding of the alcoholic, the illness of alcoholism, and the solution.
In this group, we don't talk about drunkalogues, yesterday’s problems or blaming other people. We focus solely on the solution to alcoholism as outlined in the Big Book and ensure that all shares are kept to this subject, so we can live in the solution and not the problem.

About alcoholism and our solution
Our chief responsibility to the newcomer and the still suffering alcoholic is to give an adequate presentation of the Alcoholic Anonymous program of recovery. While we do not like to pronounce anyone who reaches out for help an alcoholic, if drinking is causing you problems, we're here to share our experience of how working the program outlined in the Big Book can help you recover.
The book says that “...if, when you honestly want to, you find you cannot quit entirely or if, when drinking, you have little control over the amount you take, you are probably alcoholic. If that be the case, you may be suffering from an illness which only a spiritual experience will conquer.”
If you can relate that statement to your own drinking experience, we offer a solution that has worked for hundreds of thousands of alcoholics around the world.
With this main theme in mind, our meetings aim to reach out to those who suffer and try to carry the same message of hope contained within the Big Book and show them what to do and how to put what they learn into action, so they can recover from the “hopeless state of mind and body” that is alcoholism.
Our meetings are open to all newcomers and visitors, so anyone with an interest in learning about how to recover through the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous is welcome.
